About bulldogs
We thought we would share some interesting facts about bulldogs
English bulldogs are inside dogs ONLY. They have to have the comfort of the air conditioner and the heater...just like we do! So BEFORE you purchase an English bully , please keep this in mind. If its too cold/hot for you...its probably too cold/hot for your English bully!
English bulldogs are a man made breed. Most people have absolutley NO clue what it takes to raise this special breed. They can NOT breed by themselves. A female has to be artificially inseminated (AI). The male is usually way too heavy to mount the female. So this means the male will have to be "collected" for insemination. IF left alone with the female, the male will "try" to breed her and MOST likey die from heat exaustion or a heart attack. So "of course" this is NEVER safe to even try! Some males and females can breed naturally, but the odds are very slim to none and only happens in rare instances
The female will then have to have a c-section. When the mother comes home with her babies, she then will not get her milk until the next day or even sometimes a couple of days later. This means "someone" has to feed the puppies around the clock. Every two hours, to be exact! For the next 2 weeks. Then on the third week it moves up to around every 3 hours, (you get the picture) The babies are removed from the mother and kept at a certain temperature. The mother tends to nest and want to sit on her babies , just as a chicken would sit on her eggs. She does not realize that she is so heavy that she will crush the puppies and kill them. Bully babies have such a short nose that they can asparate very fast on you and catch pnuemonia very quickly and die. This is the reason for the expensive price you see placed on puppies. Tons of laundry and time is put into the lives of each and every one! Just an added comment...you can breed your female and there is never a guarantee of pregnancy!
